Guest registration compliance in Florence, Italy
What Florence hotels and short-term rentals are legally required to do for guests, and how Simple Guests handles it automatically.
What the law requires
Under DM 7 January 2013 (as amended under DL 53/2019), every accommodation provider in Italy must report each guest to Alloggiati Web, run by the Polizia di Stato, within 24 hours of arrival — 6 hours for stays under 24 hours. Access isn't self-serve: you first register your establishment with your local Questura, which issues a username and password, then generate a WSKEY from the Alloggiati Web portal to enable automatic submission.
In Florence, Simple Guests submits Alloggiati Web reports automatically once your property is live — no manual portal work. Note that city tourist tax (tassa di soggiorno) is a separate obligation, handled by each municipality's own portal, and isn't covered by this integration.
How Simple Guests handles this
- Guests scan their ID and sign digitally during check-in — no paper forms.
- Alloggiati Web reports are filed automatically within 24 hours of arrival.
- Every record is retained for the full 5-year period automatically.
